Following a Smart Development Assessment, the company launched one of seven strategic initiatives to further develop the organisational structure. The aim was to adapt the organisational structures to the optimised strategies and processes and to create a uniform structure within the Group. CO Improve supported the project with a clearly structured process model right through to successful implementation.

Structure creates the future

New organisational structure for more growth, customer focus and innovative strength

The company is one of the world's leading full-service providers of quality assurance systems for the web-processing industries. The systems not only ensure consistently first-class results in roll-to-roll production, but also make a significant contribution to speeding up processes and sustainably increasing productivity.

The initiative was implemented as one of a total of 7 initiatives following a Smart Development Assessment. The parallel improvement initiatives for strategy and processes resulted in a need to adapt the organisational structure. At the same time, all business units of the parent company were to have a similar organisational structure. The initiative was carried out according to the process model developed by CO Improve:

Defining the goals and premises

  • Deriving and evaluating alternative structural models
  • Selection of the target structure
  • Role description for each area
  • Nomination of managers
  • Working out the detailed structures down to job level with the managers
  • Accompanying employee appraisals and staffing
  • Information event for the entire workforce
  • Team building workshop for managers
  • Management manual

The company benefits from the following advantages

  • Strengthening customer orientation in sales and product management
  • Realising growth by establishing new business development
  • Strengthening innovation capability by establishing an innovation management and pre-development organisation
  • Increasing efficiency and strengthening synergies by implementing a cross-divisional design centre
  • Improving collaboration through clear role descriptions
